ms Noordam: Overview
Holland America Line Review

The ms Noordam is from Holland America‘s Vista class of ships. First taking to the seas in 2006, the ms Noordam is equipped with state of the art, energy efficient diesel electric power plant. Along with an AzipodĀ® propulsion system to maximize the amount of maneuverability the ship has, she is capable of things most other ships aren’t.

While cruising on the ms Noordam you will be surrounded with exquisite paintings throughout the ship. There are many other points of interest on board involving art. Some pieces are very unique and one of a kind. There is a self guided tour available through your IPod. This will take you all over the ship pointing out the specific items and the history behind them.

Expect the same comfort an quality like all the other ships in HAL’s fleet. The restaurants, cabins and common areas will go above and beyond what you have experienced on other cruise lines.

Guests should bring comfortable clothing while sailing the ms Noordam. This would include such items as a jacket, sports wear, pants, shorts and t-shirts. The only request from HAL, is that when you are walking from the pool area to your cabin, please use a cover up over your swimsuit.

There is a dress code for evenings at dinner. You will be informed of this per day with an announcement from HAL, so pack some nice clothes that fall into the categories of casual, informal and formal. Acceptable attire for each would be as follows: Casual – sun dress for women, slacks and a polo for men. Informal – dress or pants suit for women and men should wear a button up shirt with slacks (no tie or jacket is required). Formal – a gown or cock tail dress for the ladies and men should have a tux or a full suit with tie. There will only be two formal nights per week.
